The BTC Days Since ATH Heatmap is a temporal momentum tool designed to quantify the duration of drawdown exhaustion relative to Bitcoin's most recent peak. By tracking the exact number of days elapsed since the market last printed an all-time high, the indicator measures the psychological and structural endurance of the current market cycle. It effectively maps the transition from peak euphoria to the long-term patience test of a bear market or consolidation phase.

The indicator is visualised as a heatmap overlaid on the Bitcoin price action. The colour logic is tied to the age of the previous peak: the palette starts at Deep Red the moment a new all-time high is set and gradually shifts through oranges and greens into Deep Blue as the days since that peak increase. This colour fanning provides an immediate visual gauge of where Bitcoin sits within its historical time-to-recovery cycles, maxing out at a 1000-day scale to capture the full breadth of multi-year bear markets.

How To Use

Investors can use this indicator to identify periods of extreme time-based exhaustion. Historically, the Red Zone represents peak momentum and price discovery; when the chart is dominated by red dots, the asset is in a breakout phase. As the colours transition toward the Blue Zone, it indicates a prolonged absence of new highs, often signalling that the market has moved deep into a value-accumulation or boring phase.

The Dark Blue clusters (approaching 700-1,000 days) are particularly significant for macro bottom-fishers. Historically, when Bitcoin has spent several hundred days without a new ATH, the sell-side pressure from previous cycle participants tends to dry up, often marking generational buying opportunities. Conversely, the sudden reset from blue/green back to red serves as a powerful confirmation that the previous macro resistance has been cleared and a new expansionary phase has begun.
