BTC Traded Volume
Description:
Indicator Overview
The BTC Traded Volume is a capital-flow analysis tool designed to visualise the raw financial intensity behind Bitcoin’s price action. Rather than measuring the number of Bitcoin units moved, this indicator calculates the Notional USD Value (Dollar Volume) traded daily, providing a clear window into the actual money at work in the market.
By utilising a color-mapped gradient, the script distinguishes between periods of low-liquidity drift and high-conviction power moves. This allows traders to verify if a price trend is being fuelled by significant institutional-grade capital or merely speculative retail participation.
How To Use
Traders can utilise the Traded Volume indicator to validate price breakouts and identify exhaustion points in the market cycle.
• Liquidity Confirmation: High-conviction moves are typically backed by rising traded value. If the Bitcoin price is breaking out to the upside but the volume area remains dark green and low on the Y-axis, it suggests a "low-float" move that lacks the capital support to be sustained.
• Smoothing & Trend Analysis: Using the SMA and EMA toggles, you can smooth the volatile daily dollar volume. When the moving averages trend upward alongside price, it confirms a healthy, capital-backed trend. Conversely, if price is rising while the Volume SMAs are sloping downward, it signals a bearish divergence and the rally is running out of fuel.
• Visualising Extremes: Historic blow-off tops are often characterised by the volume area surging toward the upper bounds of the chart and turning bright neon green, signalling a period of peak market participation and potential reversal.
