On-Chain Capital Multiplier
Description:
Indicator Overview
The On-Chain Capital Multiplier is a high-conviction macro tool designed to measure the efficiency of capital inflows into the Bitcoin network. It quantifies the relationship between "speculative" value (Market Cap) and "realised" value (Realised Cap) by measuring their daily changes: Δ Realised Cap and Δ Market Cap.
The indicator is visualised as a dynamic lime-green histogram. When the multiplier rises, it suggest that market value is struggling to grow despite capital inflows, often seen at cyclical bottoms.
Conversely, low multiplier readings indicates that every dollar of actual capital entering the network is generating multiple dollars of market value, which is a sign of high speculative beta and bullish momentum.
The Bitcoin price is overlaid on a secondary logarithmic axis, allowing for a clear visual correlation between capital efficiency spikes and major price expansions.
How To Use
Traders/investors can use the Capital Multiplier to identify phases of market overextension and accumulation. Low histogram troughs represent periods where the market is becoming top-heavy, as market cap outpaces realised capital at an unsustainable rate. These troughs often coincide with local or macro price tops where speculative fervour is at its maximum.
In contrast, when the multiplier expands rapidly, it indicates a reset in market valuation. These peaks suggest that speculative excess has been flushed out, and the market price is closely backed by the actual cost-basis of the network (Realised Cap).
Use the Signal SMA toggle (e.g. the 200-period) to smooth out daily volatility; when the raw multiplier crosses above a long-term SMA, it often signals the start of a new impulsive trend, while a sustained trade below the SMA suggests a defensive or sideways market regime.
