About Crypto Categories
The Crypto Categories Dashboard shifts the analytical focus from individual assets to broader sector narratives. By aggregating data across distinct crypto niches (such as Layer 1s, DeFi, AI, and Memes), this suite allows analysts to track macro capital rotation and identify which themes are actively absorbing liquidity. The core of this dashboard is the **OCM Narrative Gravity** score. Rather than relying purely on price action, this composite metric blends market capitalisation, trading volume, short-term momentum, and liquidity intensity into a single 0 to 100 ranking. It reveals the true centre of gravity in the market, highlighting sectors that possess both structural depth and active speculative interest. The secondary modules, **Rotation** and **Liquidity**, strip away absolute sizing to focus on capital velocity. The Liquidity view ranks categories by their 'Liquidity Intensity', measuring how much of a sector's total valuation is actively changing hands. Meanwhile, the Rotation scatter plot maps this intensity against 24-hour price changes, offering a visual representation of narrative strength. The final module, **Leaders**, drills down into individual category performance. It breaks down the composite scores (Gravity, Momentum, and Quality) and highlights the top constituent coins, providing a clear picture of exactly what is driving the specific sector forward.

Frequently asked questions
What exactly is OCM Narrative Gravity?
It is a proprietary composite ranking system. Instead of looking at just market cap or just daily gainers, Gravity blends size, volume, price momentum, and liquidity turnover into a single 0 to 100 score. A high Gravity score means a sector is currently acting as a black hole, pulling in the majority of market capital and attention.
Why use Liquidity Intensity instead of raw trading volume?
Raw volume heavily biases massive sectors like Layer 1s or Smart Contract Platforms. Liquidity Intensity divides volume by market cap to reveal true turnover. A smaller sector like AI or Gaming might have lower total volume but a much higher Liquidity Intensity, indicating it is trading considerably hotter relative to its size.
What does the Rotation Map tell me?
The Rotation Map visualises where money is moving right now. By plotting Liquidity Intensity on the X-axis and 24h Change on the Y-axis, it instantly highlights which narratives are hot (top right) and which are dead or cooling off (bottom left).
How is the Momentum Score different from the Quality Score?
The Momentum Score is heavily weighted towards short-term price changes and trading velocity. It spots fast-moving trends. The Quality Score ignores price changes completely and focuses on structural size and depth (Market Cap and Volume). It highlights established, heavily entrenched sectors.
What does it mean if the market state is WEAK?
A WEAK state triggers when the average 24-hour market cap change across all tracked categories drops below zero. It is a macro warning sign that liquidity is broadly exiting the altcoin ecosystem, likely rotating into Bitcoin, stablecoins, or fiat.
